Transfers of Approval
When a Software Supplier and / or Operator apply for approval within a regulated jurisdiction, TST will endeavor to carry over any previously performed testing. Accredited Testing Facilities (ATFs) are required to all maintain a minimum level of testing standards. That said, previous testing performed may not need be re-performed given the previous evaluation was performed by an ATF upon whom TST can place reliance. Testing would be limited to due-diligence verification of the versions previously tested and current version being utilized, as well as evaluation of incremental differences necessary to obtain certification.
If the Terrestrial (land-based) system or components thereof have been previously tested by an ATF, TST can assist the Software Supplier and / or Operator by conducting, where possible, a Gap Analysis / Transfer of Approval. The aim of the Gap Analysis / Transfer of Approval process is to assist in reducing the amount and costs associated with testing required for new certifications. TST will review the solution submitted by the Software Supplier and / or Operator and conduct a Gap Analysis to determine what will be eligible for a Transfer of Approval. In some cases, where a particular jurisdiction differs by way of a more rigorous or complex levels of standards / requirements, TST may have to complete additional testing in areas that may have not been required in the previously certified jurisdictions. This would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and TST would be happy to provide consultation in this regard. |
